The Quran Translation course at Noor Academy Pakistan is a one-to-one live online program that teaches the word-by-word and verse-by-verse translation of the Quran in English or Urdu. It is designed for students who can already recite the Quran and now want to understand its message — to know what they are reading in their daily prayers and what guidance the verses hold for their lives.

Millions of Muslims recite the Quran beautifully without understanding a word of it. Yet Allah describes His Book as guidance, and guidance only transforms the one who understands it: “(This is) a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.” (Surah Sad, 38:29) Reflection begins with translation — with knowing, word by word, what your Lord is saying to you.

Our translation classes make that understanding accessible and personal. In each 30-minute live session on Zoom or Microsoft Teams, your teacher walks you through the verses word by word, explains key vocabulary and grammar as it appears, and discusses the plain meaning in clear English or Urdu. You are free to stop and ask about any verse, any word, any time — that is the power of one-to-one learning.

What is Quran Translation?

Quran translation is the rendering of the Quran’s Arabic text into another language — in our course, English or Urdu — so the reader can grasp its meaning. We teach it in two layers: word-by-word translation, which builds your Quranic vocabulary and shows how each Arabic word contributes to the verse, and fluent translation, which gives you the smooth, complete meaning of each verse as a whole.

This is different from merely reading a translated text on your own. With a teacher beside you — even virtually — difficult words are explained in context, grammar patterns are pointed out as they occur, and the connection between the Arabic you recite and the meaning you understand grows stronger every week. Most students describe a powerful moment a few months in: the first time a verse they have recited for years suddenly makes sense in prayer.

What You Will Learn

The course moves from language tools to the complete translation of the Quran.

Level 1 – Quranic Vocabulary and Grammar Essentials (3–4 months)

  • The most frequent words of the Quran — a few hundred words unlock a large share of the text
  • Basic Arabic grammar as it appears in verses: pronouns, verb forms, and sentence patterns
  • How to use word-by-word translation as a study skill
  • Guided translation of short surahs you recite daily

Level 2 – Word-by-Word Translation, First 10 Juz (4–6 months)

  • Systematic word-by-word translation through the opening Juz of the Quran
  • Vocabulary notebooks and revision techniques that make words stick
  • Grammar notes tied to real verses, not abstract rules
  • Understanding the surahs most commonly recited in Salah

Level 3 – Complete Translation with Study Notes (6–8 months)

  • Continuing through the remaining Juz to complete the full Quran
  • Fluent translation alongside the word-by-word work
  • Brief explanatory notes where verses need context
  • A personal glossary of your Quranic vocabulary by the end of the course

Choose your medium of instruction: the entire course is available in English or Urdu, whichever you think and ask questions in most comfortably.

Class Timings

Translation rewards unhurried discussion, so we keep classes to a focused 30 minutes where you do most of the talking — asking, questioning, connecting. Schedule two to five sessions a week at any hour that suits your routine: our teachers are available across all time zones, covering the USA, Canada, the UK, Europe, the Gulf states, Pakistan, and Australia.

Many students pair this course with their existing recitation practice — a morning translation class and an evening recitation habit complement each other beautifully. Weekend-only schedules are also available for working professionals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know Arabic before joining?

No. The course is built for English and Urdu speakers with no Arabic background. You only need to be able to read the Quranic script — even slowly. Your teacher introduces vocabulary and grammar gradually, always tied to the verses you are translating, so the language grows naturally out of the study itself.

Is the translation taught in English or Urdu?

Whichever you prefer. The full course is available in both English and Urdu — you choose your medium when you enroll, and you can even mix them if that helps you. Your teacher will explain every word and verse in your chosen language and answer your questions in it too.

How long does the full translation take?

At three classes per week, most students complete the word-by-word translation of the entire Quran in 12 to 18 months. Students who already know some Arabic often move faster. Your teacher will map out a realistic timeline for you after the free trial class.

Will this help me understand my daily prayers?

Yes — directly. The short surahs recited in Salah are covered early in the course, so within the first couple of months you will begin understanding what you recite in every prayer. Students regularly tell us this alone was worth the entire course.

Can new Muslims join this course?

Absolutely — and many do. Our teachers are patient with students from all backgrounds and will start with the essentials: the meaning of Al-Fatihah, the short surahs, and the phrases of Salah, before moving into systematic translation. Just let us know your background when you book the trial.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan begins with two completely free trial classes — no card details, no obligation. You will meet your teacher, translate your first verses together, and get a clear plan for the full course before you decide anything. It is the easiest way to experience our teaching style firsthand.
