The Learn Quran with Tajweed course at Noor Academy Pakistan is a one-to-one live online program that teaches the rules of Tajweed — correct articulation points, the rules of Noon Sakinah and Meem Sakinah, Madd, and Waqf — so you can recite the Quran accurately and beautifully. It is ideal for anyone who can already read the Quran and now wants to perfect their recitation under a qualified teacher.

There is a meaningful difference between reading the Quran and reciting it the way it was revealed. Small errors in pronunciation can change meanings, and most of us carry a few such habits from childhood without realizing it. Tajweed is the science that removes those errors: letter by letter, rule by rule, until your recitation flows the way it should. It is one of the most rewarding upgrades a Muslim can make to their worship.

In our online Tajweed classes, your teacher listens to your recitation live in every 30-minute session and corrects each mistake on the spot — the same personal correction you would receive sitting beside a teacher, delivered over Zoom or Microsoft Teams. You recite verse by verse from the Mushaf, the teacher stops you where a rule applies, explains it simply, and has you repeat it until it becomes natural.

What is Tajweed?

Tajweed literally means “to beautify” or “to make better.” In Quranic terms, it is the science of pronouncing every letter from its correct articulation point (Makhraj) and giving each letter its due rights and characteristics — its elongation, its nasalization, its pauses. Allah commands in the Quran: “…and recite the Quran with measured recitation” (Surah Al-Muzzammil, 73:4). Learning Tajweed is how a believer honors that command with their own tongue.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” (Sahih al-Bukhari) Tajweed turns ordinary reading into the careful, melodious recitation the Quran deserves — and our teachers make its rules simple enough for any dedicated student to master.

What You Will Learn

The program builds your recitation in three stages, moving from individual rules to fluent, confident recitation of long passages.

Level 1 – Makharij, Sifaat, Noon Sakinah and Meem Sakinah (3–4 months)

  • Revisiting the articulation points (Makharij) of all 28 letters
  • Characteristics of letters (Sifaat) — heavy vs. light, whisper vs. resonance
  • The four rules of Noon Sakinah and Tanween: Izhar, Idgham, Iqlab, and Ikhfa
  • The three rules of Meem Sakinah, applied in real verses

Level 2 – Madd, Waqf and Advanced Rules (3–4 months)

  • All the rules of Madd (elongation): natural, secondary, and exceptional cases
  • Waqf and Ibtida — where to stop and where to resume, and why it matters
  • Rules of Laam, Raa, and other special letters
  • Connecting rules across verses so recitation stays smooth

Level 3 – Applied Recitation and Fluency (4–6 months, ongoing)

  • Verse-by-verse recitation of full surahs with live correction
  • Building rhythm, melody, and confidence in longer passages
  • Preparing selected portions for leading prayers or teaching others
  • Optional continuation toward Ijazah certification for advanced students

Who Can Join

  • Adults and teens who can read the Quran but want their recitation to be correct

Class Timings

Tajweed is a skill built through regular, short practice — and our timetable makes that easy. Book 30-minute one-to-one sessions two to five days a week at whatever hour suits you: our teachers span all time zones, so whether you are free before work in the USA, after school in the UK, in the evening in the Gulf, or at dawn in Pakistan or Australia, there is a slot with your name on it.

Consistency matters more than intensity in Tajweed, so we recommend at least three sessions a week — and your teacher will give you short daily recitation homework between classes to lock in each rule.

Fee Plans

Tajweed is covered under the same transparent fee table as Noorani Qaida and Nazra on our courses page. Every plan is one-to-one and begins with two free trial classes.

Frequently Asked Questions

I can already read the Quran. Do I really need Tajweed?

Almost every self-taught reader carries small pronunciation habits they have never noticed — and in the Quran, a mispronounced letter can change a word’s meaning. Tajweed cleans up those habits systematically and gives your recitation the accuracy and beauty it deserves. If you can read, you are exactly the right student for this course.

How can Tajweed be taught effectively online?

Very effectively — because Tajweed is learned by ear. In each live 30-minute session your teacher listens to your recitation over Zoom or Microsoft Teams, stops you the instant a rule is missed, demonstrates the correct sound, and has you repeat it until it is right. A screen-shared Mushaf keeps you both on the same verse at all times.

How long does the Tajweed course take?

With three classes per week, most students complete the full three-level program in about 8 to 14 months, depending on their starting level. Students who only need to fix specific rules finish sooner. Your teacher sets a realistic timeline after assessing your recitation in the free trial class.

Can I earn an Ijazah through this course?

Yes — advanced students who complete the Tajweed program with excellence can continue to an Ijazah track, reciting the full Quran to a certified teacher with an unbroken chain of transmission. Mention your interest when you book the trial, and we will plan your path from the first lesson.

Can children learn Tajweed?

Yes, once they can read fluently — usually from around age 8, after Noorani Qaida or Nazra. Children’s Tajweed classes move at a gentle pace with plenty of encouragement, and parents receive updates on which rules their child has mastered.

What are the fees, and is there a free trial?

The fee table is shown above on this page — for example, 2 days a week starts at $30/month in the USA, Canada, and Australia. Every plan begins with two completely free trial classes, so you can experience the teaching before you pay anything.
