The Spoken Urdu Course at Noor Academy Pakistan is one-to-one live online training that helps children and adults speak Urdu fluently and confidently. Every 30-minute session is taught live by a qualified male or female teacher over Zoom or Microsoft Teams, with real conversation practice — not just textbook exercises.

For thousands of Pakistani families living abroad, Urdu is becoming a language the children understand but cannot speak. Kids in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia hear Urdu at home, reply in English, and slowly lose the ability to express themselves in their mother tongue. Phone calls with grandparents turn awkward. Family weddings feel distant. Parents worry that a precious part of their identity is slipping away — and they are right to worry, because a language not spoken is a language lost within one generation.

This course was built for exactly those families. Through friendly, structured conversation sessions, students move from hesitant single words to natural, flowing Urdu — the kind spoken at home, with elders, and in everyday life. Along the way they also build reading and writing skills, correct pronunciation, and an appreciation of Urdu’s beautiful literature and poetry. What is Spoken Urdu Course?

A spoken Urdu course is focused language training that teaches you to speak Urdu — not just read or write it. While school Urdu often means memorizing essays and grammar rules, our course is built around talking: everyday conversations, storytelling, describing your day, discussing opinions and speaking with correct pronunciation and natural expression. At Noor Academy Pakistan, the Spoken Urdu Course is taught one-to-one and live, so every minute is your speaking time. The teacher corrects pronunciation gently, expands vocabulary naturally through conversation, and gradually introduces reading, writing and cultural context — so students end up not only speaking Urdu, but feeling at home in it.

What You Will Learn

The course has four levels. After the free trial assessment, your teacher places you at the right level and sets a personal pace. Typical durations for three classes per week are:

  • Level 1 — Foundation (4–6 weeks): Urdu sounds and correct pronunciation, basic greetings and introductions, simple present-tense sentences, everyday vocabulary (family, food, home, school). Absolute beginners start speaking from the very first class.
  • Level 2 — Everyday Conversation (6–8 weeks): talking about your day, asking and answering questions, past and future tenses in speech, polite expressions and common idioms. Students begin holding real 5–10 minute conversations.
  • Level 3 — Fluent Expression (8–10 weeks): storytelling and narration, expressing opinions and feelings, discussing news and everyday topics, reducing English mixing, and speaking with natural rhythm and confidence.
  • Level 4 — Reading, Writing and Culture (ongoing): reading Urdu script fluently, basic writing (messages, short paragraphs), introduction to Urdu poetry, proverbs and cultural etiquette — the deeper connection that turns a speaker into a true Urdu-daan.

Each level includes pronunciation drills, vocabulary building through conversation (never boring word lists), and regular speaking assessments so you can hear your own progress. Parents of young learners receive progress reports after every level.

Who Can Join

  • Kids abroad (ages 5+): children in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and the Gulf who understand Urdu but answer in English — the course gently turns passive understanding into active speaking through fun, age-appropriate conversation.

  • Adults: parents who want to improve their own Urdu, professionals working with Urdu-speaking communities, and anyone who regrets never learning properly.

Frequently Asked Questions

My child understands Urdu but cannot speak it. Will this course help?

Yes — this is exactly the student we teach most often. Understanding without speaking is called passive knowledge, and it converts to active speech faster than starting from zero. Through guided conversation practice, your child will move from one-word answers to full sentences within weeks.

Do you teach reading and writing Urdu as well?

Yes. While the focus is speaking, Level 4 covers reading the Urdu script fluently and basic writing, such as messages and short paragraphs. If your priority is reading and writing from the start, tell us in the trial class and we will adjust the plan.

We speak English at home. Can my child still learn?

Absolutely. Most of our students come from English-speaking homes. The teacher creates an Urdu-speaking environment in class through games, stories and conversation, and gives small, fun speaking tasks for home. No Urdu background at home is required.

How are the online Urdu classes conducted?

Classes are live and one-to-one over Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Each 30-minute session is built around speaking: conversation practice, pronunciation drills, vocabulary through discussion, and cultural topics. The teacher corrects gently and keeps the atmosphere warm and encouraging.

What class timings are available for the USA and UK?

We offer flexible one-to-one slots across all time zones, including evenings in the USA, Canada, UK and Europe, afternoons and evenings in the Gulf, and mornings in Australia. You choose the days and times; we match a teacher to your schedule.

Is there a free trial before we pay?

Yes. Every plan includes 2 free trial classes with no obligation. In the trial, the teacher assesses the student’s current level through friendly conversation and recommends the right starting level — so you only pay for what you actually need.
