The Tafseer-ul-Quran course at Noor Academy Pakistan is a one-to-one live online program that explains the Quran verse by verse — the context in which each passage was revealed, how classical scholars understood it, and what practical lessons it holds for your life today. It is the deepest level of Quranic study we offer, taught personally by qualified teachers.
Translation tells you what the words mean; Tafseer tells you what the verses mean. Why was this verse revealed? What did the Prophet ﷺ and his companions understand from it? How have scholars across fourteen centuries explained it, and how does it apply to a Muslim living today? These are the questions Tafseer answers — and they transform reading into understanding, and understanding into action. Allah says: “…And We revealed to you the message, that you may make clear to the people what was sent down to them…” (Surah An-Nahl, 16:44)
Studying Tafseer one-to-one is a rare opportunity. In each 30-minute live session on Zoom or Microsoft Teams, your teacher unpacks the verses with you — the background, the language, the scholarly views — and you discuss what it means for your own life. No question is off-limits, no curiosity is rushed past. This is scholarship made personal.
What is Tafseer-ul-Quran?
Tafseer is the classical Islamic science of explaining the Quran. Where translation renders words into another language, Tafseer opens up the verse itself: the Shan-e-Nuzool (the circumstances of its revelation), the linguistic nuances of the Arabic, the interpretations recorded from the Prophet ﷺ, his companions, and the great commentators of our tradition, and the legal, spiritual, and moral guidance the verse carries.
Our course draws on authentic classical commentaries, taught in simplified English or Urdu — no prior scholarship required. The goal is not academic jargon but clarity: that you finish each lesson understanding the passage more deeply than when you began, and carrying at least one practical lesson into your week.

Class Timings
Deep study deserves a calm, regular slot — and our one-to-one format lets you choose exactly that. Book 30-minute sessions two to five times a week at any hour across all time zones: the USA, Canada, the UK, Europe, the Gulf, Pakistan, and Australia are all covered by our teaching team.
Many Tafseer students prefer two longer-feeling weekly sessions with reading between classes; others enjoy a short daily study habit. Either rhythm works — tell your teacher what suits your life, and the course bends around it. Missed classes can be rescheduled with advance notice.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between translation and Tafseer?
Translation tells you what the Arabic words mean in English or Urdu. Tafseer goes further: it explains why a verse was revealed, how the Prophet and the early generations understood it, what scholars have said about it, and what guidance it holds for your life. Translation is the doorway; Tafseer is the house itself.
Should I complete the translation course before Tafseer?
It is recommended, because knowing the basic meanings makes Tafseer much richer — but it is not required. Your teacher will gauge your background in the free trial and adjust the depth accordingly, filling in translation gaps as you study. Many students also take both courses side by side.
Which Tafseer books do you follow?
We draw on authentic classical commentaries of the Ahl-us-Sunnah tradition, taught in simplified English or Urdu. Your teacher will name the specific references used for each surah as you study, and explain scholarly differences honestly where they exist — always keeping the lesson clear and practical.
Is Tafseer suitable for beginners?
Tafseer is best appreciated after basic recitation, which is why we recommend our translation course first. That said, motivated beginners are welcome: the teacher simply starts with shorter surahs and foundational concepts, building your background as the Tafseer itself unfolds.
How are the classes conducted?
Live and one-to-one, in 30-minute sessions on Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Your teacher presents the verses, explains the background and scholarly views, and discusses the lessons with you — you can interrupt with questions at any point. Brief reading or reflection is usually suggested between classes.
What are the fees? Is there a trial?
The fee table is shown above — for example, 2 days a week starts at $40/month in the USA, Canada, and Australia. Every plan begins with two completely free trial classes, so you can experience a real Tafseer lesson with your teacher before paying anything.
Go beyond translation — understand the Quran the way it deserves. Book your free trial classes today and begin your Tafseer journey with a qualified teacher. You can also browse every program on our courses page or explore common questions on our FAQ page.
